Laser Tube Cutting
For superior accuracy and ideal flexibility, CRD Manufacturing offers laser tube cutting services in our state-of-the-art facility. Our laser cutting technology produces precise and complex laser cut geometry on angle, box, channel, pipe, and tube materials.
As the most productive method of tube processing, laser tube cutting has found applications in a wide range of industries from aftermarket auto parts to commercial industrial fabrication. The CRD Manufacturing team supports our clients by handling even the most complex shapes with reliable consistency.
What Are the Benefits?
Compared to conventional processes, laser tube cutting reduces manufacturing costs and lead times without ever compromising quality. By eliminating marking out, sawing, drilling, deburring, and shaping, clients enjoy a more precise finished product and increased cost-efficiency.
Clients can increase their cost savings with consideration for secondary downstream operations. By forming and slotting tubes during the laser cutting process, assembly becomes more straightforward.
How Does It Work?
With its nearly limitless opportunities for complexity, the basic concept behind laser tube cutting is relatively simple. Leveraging an infrared laser, the high-energy light beam is pointed onto the raw material through a focusing lens, which concentrates the energy into a fine pinpoint. As a combination of localized melting and vaporization occurs, oxygen or nitrogen is then directed through the nozzle to expel the melted material, resulting in a clean and precise cut.
The positioning of the laser and the tube being cut is managed by a computer program called CNC code. Our engineers develop a 3D CAD model of the specified project and export the design into the CNC code. The CNC machine uses that code to dynamically reposition the laser and dynamically control the power behind it to achieve the desired results.
Need assistance with one-off prototype cutting? Ready to move forward with your large batch? Our laser tube cutting technology allows us to provide services to suit all our customers, regardless of their run size.
